Il Museo dei Fossili di Asti custodisce uno dei patrimoni paleontologici più importanti d’Europa, testimonianza preziosa di quando le colline del Monferrato erano i fondali di un caldo Mare Padano. L’Acquario Tropicale rappresenta il cuore vivo di questa narrazione: non è un semplice sfoggio naturalistico, ma una vera e propria “macchina del tempo”.
Osservando le specie viventi ospitate nella grande vasca, il visitatore può finalmente vedere in vita, i colori e il dinamismo di quegli organismi le cui spoglie riposano, fossilizzate, nelle teche del Museo.
In questa spettacolare vasca di oltre 3.000 litri d’acqua marina possiamo ammirare un autentico scrigno di biodiversità. Coralli e pesci tropicali, provenienti da diverse parti del mondo, ricreano, con un po’ di fantasia, un habitat dell’antico fondale del Miocene.
